CASE REPORT DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF VERNAL KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS

Background: Vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) is a bilateral ocular allergic disease mediated by hypersensitivity reactions. VKC events occur in boys the first decade of life and continue until puberty. Early identification effective treatment are essential because condition recurrent potentially burdensome to patient's quality life. This case report examines diagnosis, management, therapy options for patients with highlights significance clinician's involvement cases VKC.Case Presentation: We case, boy, 8 years old, came eye clinic at Cut Meutia Hospital pain both eyes, red decreased vision, increased discharge. complaint has been experienced past few years, most appeared when patient played under sun or allergy came. Examination showed mild conjunctival inflammation, pseudoptosis, papillae on limbus.Conclusion: The was diagnosed received several treatments, including artificial tear dexamethasone.
